Saddle & nut material on '01 Lowden O25C

Postby marinercross » 24 Feb 2006, 21:22

I have an O25C Lowden that I purchased new around 2001. This has become my main guitar after 3 dozen or so guitars and 30+ years of playing. I am as happy now as the day I got it. I have never gone this long without wanting that next guitar.

The first question I have is what the bridge saddle and nut material are from that era Lowden?

The second question has to do with warrantee work. I don't need any warrantee work at this time and am very meticulous, so I'm not anticipating anything in the near future. I assume that I would go through the dealer where the guitar was purchased if there was any problems, but does the warrantee then go through Avalon even though the guitar was built with the Lowden name in 2001?

Thanks for building great guitars that have made me GAS free for the first time in 33 years!![/b]

Hi MC and welcome to the forums :)

The nut and saddle are made from ox-bone.

All warranty work on Lowden Guitars of any era are now carried out by George Lowden.

Cheers

Thanks for the quick response, Jim. It is greatly appreciated.

I figured that it was bone, and I'm very happy with it. I am looking at an Avalon 12 string to add to my stable.

Thanks,

Mariner
