Which guitar was this?

Postby Cringer » 01 Nov 2004, 16:24

I visited Avalon in Newtonards last year for a tour. Fantastic place and I'd recommend it if you can get a chance.

While there I was given a guitar to play on. I can't remember if it was a Lowden or an Avalon, but I think it was an Avalon due to the fact it had a lacquer rather than the brushed finish the Lowden's had (IIRC!)

Anyway the reason for my post is I rather liked the model and I forgot to note down what it was. It had a very unique cutaway. Rather than being a C shape, it was more of an elongated S.

Anyone happen to know what I'm talking about? I'd post a picture but I can't find one to post.

I know Guitarist reviewed the Avalons when they first appeared and if you could grab that back issue you'd get some pics. Why not just go see your local friendly Avalon dealer and get you mits on one for an hour or two!? :)

Better still take your camera and post some pics of one here!! :D :D

I might just do that. I've not seen one in the shops that looks like that though. I might have to do a tour this weekend :)
