pick up problems and machine head problems

1) pick up - i have been getting a poor sound from my avalon silver through my churches pa system the sound is just not great, the pick up in my guitar is a fishman prefix which i know is a great pick up but im not getting the quality i really want and know my guitar is capable of. what settings would you suggest to have my pick up set at, and the pa system? I have everything set around the middle. Any sugestions?

2) My low E string machine head seems very stiff and creeky, if you know what i mean. It seems very tight,could that be why its stiff, would it need loosened at all.

I love my guitar ts amazing its just I want the beautiful acoustic tone of it to carry through when I plug it in and that doesnt seem to be happening, maybe its the pa system that isnt good, but its a great guitar, thank you for your time

Can you describe what you mean by a "poor sound"? I ask because my AS200CE with a Prefix Plus sounded distorted through our church PA. After trying several different amps we never found one that worked well. It turned out to be a bad Prefix Plus preamp and Fishman replaced it under warranty through Avalon. Now it sounds a LOT better when I test it. However, our last two services have been unplugged so I haven't had a chance to hear it at full volume yet.

It isn't distorted or anything like that its just sounds "dead" , there isnt much depth to the tone or anything like that.
