Avalon love from riverdog; Celtic Palm

Postby riverdog » 03 May 2012, 17:27

Hey ya'll,

It's been awhile since I've posted something new here although I've been kinda busy on my YTC.
Well I've added a little artwork to my lil' Avalon Concert as you will see at the end of my recent video an original diddy titled Celtic Palm. It did not turn out as I hoped with the celtic knot tree trunk because of the tiny size, however it's still cool and represents my love for Irish guitars, music, and being a Florida boy and all. As I wrote in my video comments, I am not an accomplished Celtic guitarsist, however even as an average joe, I really appreciate the quality and craftsmanship of Irish luthiers and their signature tone that I've come to love in Avalon and Lowden. So this lil' melody has an Irish flavor mixed in with some Avalon love with a splash of trop-ee-cal!

Cheers,

riverdog

Great stuff, RD! Lots of atmosphere and emotion as always, and you play it great!
:D
I think Ava looks very glamorous in the final shots of the vid.

Long may you strum!

Thankyou so much John, its a simple, fun little diddy. I'm glad Ava's facelift passes muster and thanks for your support and advice during the thought and process of gettin' her done.

Thankyou Lentin for takin' time to listen and your kind reply. Nice to hear and see the Avalon alumni are still out there!
I just posted a new original since Celtic Palm entitled "Ripples", also played on my Avalon Concert. I also added some palm tree inlays on the bridge and fretboard. Hope you like!

Very nice indeed, Eric. Almost got a bit of a Ralph McTell feel to it, which can never be bad. Love the harmonics too.
