Hi all,

Could someone give me a pointer as to how I may post some pictures for the forum to look at?

Thanks,

Richard :?

You need to host your pictures on your own webspace or use a facility like this http://imageshack.us/ for free hosting and then use the 'img' tag to embed into your post.

Right,

Here are a set of pictures of my beautiful Small body Eclipse.

I've owned a full sized Eclipse and think it was probably the best acoustic I ever owned but it was just too big for me.
Not the neck which was perfect but the body size, it being a super jumbo.

This small body Eclipse is a "small object of desire" and a dream of a finger style guitar.

It is truly lovely and incidentally based on a Zemaitis design that was used by George Harrison.
I only recently discovered this when watching the new Martin Scorsese movie.... "George Harrison – Living in the Material World".
George was using this particular small eclipse design albeit in a bigger body size I think.

Anyway, this guitar may be available to a new home soon.

It's a story of the "three bears" as this one might be somewhat petite for me.

I have come over all mushy! I have a full-sized Eclipse ( number 4 of the run) and it is an amazing guitar, but as you say, it is a big one.
8)
I posted a link to it the other day (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLEkNfenmp4 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcYIHn9a1lU.

It is so nice to see a little Eclipse coming into the world - especially with such a cute, smiling bridge!

It would be really good to hear some sound clips!

Congratulations! :D

Hi John,

Yes, I have looked into the forum from time to time and recognise your tireless enthusiasm for the big Eclipse.

Mine was numbered PT001 I think as it could somehow lay claim to being the first but ended up being numbered Prototype 001 because "another" Eclipse, born around the same time was given Serial number 001.

Maybe Jim might be able to clarify things from the records but really, it was (is) a superb guitar. This little Eclipse has "bear claw" figuring in the top while my big Eclipse did not.

I was especially tickled though, being a Beatles fan, to discover George Harrison playing the exact same Zemaitis design as my small one.

Hi Richard

When I look at the prices of the Zemaitis official re-issues RRP $16,000 (which have 1 piece or three piece necks, not 9 piece like the Eclipse), I get a warm glow of satisfaction!! :D

How does the baby version sound when compared to the Eclipse? I guess it is very well-balanced, but perhaps hasn't got the boom of big brother? Would love to hear some sound clips!

Most vids I have seen of the Eclipse being played are by flat-pickers and rhythm players, but I really enjoy it as a finger style guitar. I bet the baby is very good for finger style.

I came across this the other day - not our model, quite, but similar. I am not sure he gets the best out of the guitar, but you can still get an idea of the power and range.

Yes, I should have a think about a sound clip....easier for me to throw up some pictures than starting to think about recording.

I agree with you about the build specifications entirely.

In the meantime, here's a picture of George Harrison.

Here's a sound clip I think....

Some noodling on the Small Eclipse.

Richard

Wow! That is fabulous! :!:

The sound is really well balanced with a much fuller bass than I would have expected. String separation, musicality - you've got the lot! :D

Fine playing, too!

Thanks for posting such a treat! :D

Hi John,

well that is very encouraging to hear.

thanks very much indeed.

you know how it is, better just to wack something out otherwise you could be at it for ages trying to make yourself sound like the way you think you should.

yes, the guitar is very balanced and is not at all light on the bass. it's a fuller sound than you would expect with a very sweet top end and a clear strong bass neither lean or overblown.

I used an Akg C1000S small condensor mic pointed around the 14th fret from about 12" and recorded into Sonar X1 pn a PC with a little Lexicon plate reverb (plug in). ...in a poor recording space. The guitar sounds better in reality, limited here by my poor recording (and playing) technique.
