How is your Avalon spending Xmas?!

Postby the greypicker » 24 Dec 2011, 13:18

Happy Xmas folks! :D

My Avalon Eclipse will be playing at a family gathering tonight and another session on Boxing Day. :)

He has a an old friend called Gibson due to visit, another called Martin and it is possible even Levin will put in an appearance.

How is your guitar spending the festive season? Any presents, like new strings, capos, etc?

Long may you strum! :D

My guitar is gonna have a rest to be ready for a busy new year, where she is going to shine even more than last year!
For you and evrybody else best wishes for 2012! :)

Cheers, Coen

We use to spend Christmas Eve with the family.
So, as every year since... (puff, really old I am) I took my guitar with me (and my family) and went to my parents home, where my sister's family was also there.
The L32 is perfect for this event, since I need a solid and full of volume sound. You can't imagine how loud we can shout.
And we spent some hours singing Christmas songs, and also some traditional Spanish songs.

Always really funny.

Cheers.

Sounds like fun! My family would be more likely to complain if I got my guitars out.

My guitars both spent much of Christmas in their cases, but new CDs by Martin Simpson and Dougie Maclean and also a Graham/Jasch/Renbourn book have given me good cause to get them out. My Avalon is currently trying to get to grips with Kit's Tune by MS and attempting to work out some of DM's 'Resolution' album - if only I was as good a player as my guitars, things would be so much easier.
