New strap

Postby Thez » 19 Oct 2011, 22:26

Looking forward to my L32c next week and i want to treat myself to a new strap for it -obviously safe but it must be comfortable especially for playing standing that wont inflict any shoulder pain - thinking maybe a nice leather but any suggestions reccomends etc gratefully received
Thanks

Hi Thez

i just bought one of these. Nice leather and a Celtic pattern that compliments an Irish guitar. 8) They do various colours.

Are you having a strap button on the neck base? If not, you will need cord to attach to the headstock.

Good luck! :D

Nice looking strap and a good price too. And good to see a completely metal free strap - you don't want to run the risk of a buckle ruining your new baby. I recently bought a new strap for my L32 and found you have to make the hole a fair bit bigger to compensate for the enlarged endpin (All very thoughtfully ready to accept a jack.) As for string on the neck end, I didn't like the idea of a lace or one of those Planet Waves quick release things cutting into the wood. I opted for a small leather strap with bespoke fastener I found on evil bay - about £8, I seem to recall.
