Well John we really needed to update the phpBB forum code, we were using an old version that could not be patched any further, this was high-lighted at the weekend when a 'very considerate' hacker was able to get into the admin section, I say considerate because he could've done a lot of damage but didn't, just gave me fair warning of the security issues that needed dealt with so in all fairness I'm grateful to him and I reckon / hope he's maybe a guitar fan / player

I'd like to change a few things over the next few weeks but the code is different than before so I'll need to read up first before making any visual changes.

Learning hat back on again !

John

Well done, John. Was going to mention it, but didn't really know which forum to post it in! I like the different tuning allegory.

Just my 2p worth on the new look:

:D Good idea to update for reliability and security issues.
:? Not sure about Friends & Foes - aren't we all friends here?!
:( The new colours don't look too much like an MS Office package, so very hard to view the board covertly in work.
 New code seems to have triggered something in work, so that I have to log in every time I view.

Other than that, thanks JIm for the work you do in hosting and participating in this little community.

And we've got avatars back too. Love yours, Jim. Was that taken just after you saw the price on the latest shipment of Brazilian rosewood?

Hi Classe, the maximum size limit is 70 x 70 pixels ... the avatar picture can be smaller but not bigger, if you have a picture but don't know how to resize it or just have problems doing it feel free to send it to me and I'll do it for you.

Those Snark clip on tuners are great....but they block the Avalon logo on my guitar.......if I place it anywhere else it slides off the slope-y bit..>>>>>>>---->>>

I like the new forum! Very clean design! :D

Interesting. Mine sits beautifully above the bottom E string.

I agree it is a great tuner - probably the best I've tried. It has relegated my Intellitouch to the Collings case, as that guitar stays pretty much in standard, so only needs minimal tweaks when I use a capo. Tuning on my Avalon varies a bit for different pieces, so I keep the better one on there. Of course, it helps that the Gotohs and Waverleys on the guitars both hold their tunings very well. Pity they don't do a classier looking Snark though. One for your luthiers, Jim?
