I'm curious to know whether my pre-"gold" era A200CE (serial number A00208) has AAX bracing similar to the Gold series, which apparently was instigated later on.
Since I don't know what to look for under the top, I'm hoping the factory will be able to tell from the serial number. I'm told by the previous owner that it was built around 2001.
P.S. Wonderful-sounding guitar in any case!
Thanks! I was misinformed about the build date, apparently. I do indeed adore this guitar! Whatever your builders do to get this sound (I imagine the particular bracing plays a role), it just suits me perfectly. How would you characterize the difference in sound resulting from the two bracing patterns you use (i.e. the AAX vs. the bracing used on most current models).
Our AXX is a tighter / stiffer bracing pattern which delivers a response that is more direct with some extra compression ... this can be a big plus for players who mostly flatpick or strum.
Our AXE pattern is more flexible allowing for a more dynamic responsive range ... a great open sound that can handle all styles of play, richer, deeper bass tones and excellent sustain, overall the AXE is the more versatile bracing pattern.
