Avalon S100 Gold Series (Ireland)

Postby samuelch » 05 May 2011, 08:26

Just curious, but how much does this guitar cost new today?
I got mine used, but was wondering how much they go for now.
I can't find much information online.

Thanks.

Hi Samuel and welcome to the forums :)

The Gold series is only made to order now and have a full UK retail price of £1999. Most of our time is taken up building the Legacy range but some people like the understated appearance of the Gold's and the different attack response that comes from the AXX bracing.

Your S100 will have Mahogany back / sides and neck with a Spruce soundboard, Ebony fingerboard.

I hope that helps and congrats on your new / used Avalon.

Thanks for the info and the welcome JB.

Wow, I didn't know they retail that high now. I guess they would be hard to replace since they are not in production anymore and are only custom ordered.

Do you know what they were selling for when they were in full production?
Mine is a 2002 model - when did the gold series first appear?

way back then I think it was about £1100 or so full retail, but the pre-ordered ones we build now have an upgraded neck construction and hardware and a few other tweaks.
