I am considering buying a silver series AS 101, but have only once played one of the Irish guitars which was stunning and expensive. Is the AS 101 a worthy buy or will it be a huge dissapointment? I'd appreciate your thoughts :D

The answer to your question is very difficult.

For me a 'worthy buy' would involve value, and value is a balance between price and quality.

I have an Avalon Silver. 'A' Series For the price I paid I reckon it's an excellent guitar, and great to take out places I wouldn't be happy with some of its dearer brother/sister Avalons.

For the original price band I reckon it was one of the best value and sounding laminate body guitars on the market.

I hope this is of some use.

Good luck with your search.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Just this evening bought a second hand AS 101 for £330. I've spoken to a couple of guys who play NI Avalons and Lowdens, but have also tried the Silver series out during their travels, and I am quite happy that for the price, the silvers are magnificent value for money, giving the high overall quality of the instrument.
