Ugly sounds from plugged-in AS200CE

On Wednesday evening I had my first opportunity to plug my newly purchased AS200CE into a PA system. I was dismayed to hear a high frequency hissing and popping! At first I suspected a bad instrument cable, but swapping that out made no difference. Next I tried a new battery, then a different channel on the board, then a seperate combo amp. Nothing worked, and the hissing/popping remained.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I suspect a faulty jack, but since the instrument is brand new I am hesitant to just change it myself. My other problem is that I bought it at the Christian Musician Summit (a two day conference) in Seattle, Washington, USA, but I live near Portland, Oregon. There are no Avalon dealers anywhere near my home.

I've emailed Avalon and left a voice mail message with the US distributor, but have not heard anything yet. In the mean time I can still play it unplugged and marvel at the beautiful tone and feel

I have forwarded your e-mail to our US distributor and also contacted Fishman to get the quickest resolve.

I will hopefully have some feedback from them on Monday.

While you're waiting why not try a quick blast of switch cleaner spray into the jack socket - watch the finish though!
