Hi all, and nice to be here. As of this Wednesday just past I am the owner of a brand new, old stock Czech made Avalon D201, although I will have to wait for it`s arrival.
Anyway after a lot of research, and looking at older threads here, I took the plunge, and purchased one from "Everythingmusic4less" on U.S. Ebay. I know I`m taking a calculated risk here, but I hope I will be well pleased when it finally arrives.
As for the Irish Vs Czech made debate, I am rather hoping that mine will have that characteristic Avalon tone, what with the shared AXX bracing, plus the fact the Czech D`s have a closer to Irish body shape, than the other Furch models have.
I know Furch have a fine reputation, and have a similar way of doing things to Avalon, certainly back in 2005/6 they did anyway, so here`s hoping for the best.
P.S. I loved the tone that Teddy Thompson got out of his D201 on Joolz Holland`s Later show, which is why I took the plunge.
