just something i wanted you guys to check out, a guy by the name of Michael Watts, local UK player, think his stuff is great! don't think he pushes his music much, quite laid back, but a great player all the same 8) think he uses a Lowden

here's his website that has info on him and some vids & yes that is an Ervin Somogyi he's playing! :D

Then there's this kid smokin' Joe Robinson right out from down under :) such a great talent and only 18! he won Australia's got talent, and you can kinda see why :D he's the next tommy emmanuel for sure!

Then there another local UK player by the name of Ben Powell, great writer and player, one with a real feel for the guitar

and finally Andrew Gorny, another great talent this time from state side who has just pressed his first album I-Funk, models himself after Michael Hedges using the same set up and guitar Michael used, does some great covers as well 8)

BTW, how is Andy about taping/videoing? I have a front row ticket for Bristol and was hoping to record.

cheers :) shame i can't see him play this year though Don Ross & Brooke Miller are coming over to the UK in the Autumn so looking forward to that :)

He's pretty ok with it since youtube has done so much for his career and still does, but it is getting pretty rinsed all the vids up though a good quality vid, well edited from the front row should get plenty of views 8)

Andy Mckee was in Jersey recently, and I couldn't get a ticket....rather bummed was I!

yeah same here won't get to him play this year :cry: Since i posted this nearly a year ago why note post up some new vids ey 8)

I'm Welsh too, I was born in Newport, Gwent, and most of my folks still live there...I haven't been back in a good while.

I've just discovered Nathan Treadgold too - and yes, he can't half play that Stonebridge! Funny how Cwmbran can come up with two of the best young British guitarists around in NT and Gareth Pearson.

Another player I've just discovered is Simon Fox, an Aussie-born guitarist, based in Canada. The samples on his website are very good. Originally a Lowden player, he switched to Taylor and now to a custom build.
