First A Silver, Now A Gold...

Postby kec » 22 Feb 2010, 21:26

... just took delivery of a Gold D200. Man, you guys were right. Silvers are good, Golds are even better!

I see why Avalon chose Furch to build the Gold's the workmanship is supurb. And I see a lot of interest in the Stonebridges too.

I hope one day I can afford the real deal Avalon!

I do need help. Can someone verify my serial number? Are those ones? I think they must be, but just wanted to check. 22 211

Thank-you for the positive comments. We did look at several alternatives to Furch but what attracted us was how similar their approach to guitar making is to our own and ... hey presto ... you get a similar result! I'd say it is a combination of art, process and attitude.

We can confirm your Gold has a genuine serial number that dates production to the end of 2006. Serial numbers in this format (xx xxx) were sold exclusively in the USA - no particular reason why, maybe except that it suited the then distributor to number them this way.

When I saw a Furch Durango lately, I thought it didn't look too far from an Avalon Silver Dreadnought ;)
