Apparently archeologists have discovered a long lost Irish text from a dig.
It's called "Irish Dancing - Part 2: How to use the arms..."

Lilting

Postby MIKE 450 » 03 Feb 2011, 22:18

Lilting is something I used to do as a boy,I can still manage a burst of lilting after a bottle of wine or after winning money. Come to think of it, some unexpected cash can bring on a burst of lilting even from the most conservative being. "3000 pounds" WOW! la de da da la de da do la la la la la la te do te da to do.

Lilting was a form of expression when folk could not afford an instrument, and when instruments were banned. As for Paul Brady, I'm almost sure the tapping of feet would be viewed as cheating,as it would add to the verbal drum trickery involved in lilting.

I suppose if Avalon give me their most expensive guitar,I'd be lilting for a year. Does this help John.

Very good :)

Greypicker, I heard that song for the very first time from a record of Boys of the Laugh, many, many years ago.
I still keep it...
Hmmm, good times then, when I was young :)

John, you're always the same age in you're heart/mind. Yes, the body grows older but never the heart. I consider wisdom of age to be as buoyant as youth! So I'm off to the club for a drink and sing-song!
