Strange high's saddle

Postby Fransgreg » 20 Nov 2009, 12:50

Hi,

I'm just wondering about this strange saddle shape on a L25.

The 1st and 2d strings saddle is a monolithic piece. I'm pretty sure it is not original (rough cutting, it seems). But the guitar sound great ! Does it mean that the slot wasn't carved at the right place of the bridge and that the luthier compensated his mistake with this rare saddle ? Can anyone here tell me if the slot seems in his normal position ?

Looks like a home modification there ... has the nut also been tampered with ?

The slot is in the correct position.

PS. it's easier for users browsers if you resize / crop photos before uploading

Hi JB,

Thanks for fast answer and sorry for my huge photo's ! I thought you can easily judge of things with high definition ones ...

Nothing seems altered at the nut. Though the intonation is all right. Strange, isn't it ?

Does seem strange ... hard to tell without measuring the scale.
