Humidity problem

Humidity outside the apartment has been around 80~100%

and 60~70% for last 2 weeks.

Inside my hard case, I placed one 100g silica gel and the humidity

was still above 63% inside the case.

So I detuned my guitar everytime I put it back to the case.

I just received two 50g silica gel for digital camera and electronic

equipment and placed them inside the case.

After 4 hours, the humidity inside case was still 63%.


Does it take some time for new silca gels to start absorbing moisture?

Or is there some other reason for this situation?

How shouuld I protect my guitar from this EVIL humidity?

I just took my Caliber hygrometer outdoor

and it suddenly dropped from 68% to 53% in like 30 seconds.

Then I closed the door and left it where it was and it was back to

64%!


Could you tell me what could cause this difference in my apartment?

Any guess?

I am also facing the issue, high humidity. Some times it reaches 70%. Any idea to manage this?
