Where to buy a silver series from...

Postby Kyle » 20 Jun 2009, 12:10

Hi there-
I'm looking at upgrading my guitar and whilst I don't have a fortune to spend I think I could probably afford an Avalon Silver series. I'm just wondering where is the best place to buy from? I don't see any listed on the Avalon site, or indeed on the price list. I've been quite tempted by a few on eBay... is this my best bet?

Thanks for any advice you can send my way!

Hi Kyle,

The silver series is no longer made. They stopped about 2006.
I've seen 2 sell on e-bay recently. One for about £200 and another at about £350 with electrics.
They are very nice guitars. A friend of mine has one and it sounds and plays very well.
Of course, the Gold series were even finer...
These are also no longer listed but if you ask JB at Avalon, they will make you one for a good price. Much more than a silver 'though.
Hope you find one.

There is some retailer in Canada that has been selling off new Silver and Gold series Avalons on ebay - from as little as £200. Even with postage and customs, that would be a bargain.

Thanks for the info Nigel, that explains why there aren't too may retailers selling them! I've seen a few about on eBay for in and around £200, so I might well go down that route!

Hi Kyle, try this link to Phoenix Soundworks, they say they have a limited number of Avalon Silver series for sale.
