Just wanted to say hi to all at Avalon and say that my new Nylon String Jazz is just sensational. I did some quick recording experiments with it last night and the results were instantly magical, what a sound, I'm totally knocked out!! All the best guys

Hi there Paul, it's great to have you join the forums and even better to have you visit the factory last week.

I really enjoyed you're latest CD "Half Alive" and looking forward to your new acoustic album.

Thanks for your support of the Avalon brand, glad you like the Jazz model :D

Look forward to seeing you back at the factory soon.

From the couple of times that I have tried these nylon jazz guitars, I have come away very impressed.

I started researching them on the web and came across another one that you have made. A Golden Gate model, whatever that's all about.

How can I get more information on various rosette offerings from your custom shop on legacy models?

Pics?

Also, JB, the Jazz model that you are holding in that picture, what options does it sport? Like is it the A25J or the S25J or is it possibly an A (or S) 32J?

What Binding and Purfling?

The avalon website needs more pictures. Lot of them. And more detailed descriptions. IMHO

Hi Nylon rock and welcome to the forums :D

The GGJazz model is a limited run of nylon string guitars made with Monteray Cypress for the back and sides, this wood comes from the Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

The A and S Jazz models are available in spruce top version (32).
We choose binding and purfling combinations to compliment the others woods of the guitar so it will vary some-what but if your wanting a custom model then we try to accomdate as close to requests as possible. :)

P.S. that ain't me holding the Jazz, that's a fantastic guitarist from Newcastle ... Paul Rose http://www.paulrose.co.uk/cgi-bin/page.cgi .... awesome player 8)

I have just uploaded a new website that features my Avalon A32J guitar. It has some videos with tips on how to play nylon string jazz guitar, and some sound files. I hope you enjoy it.
