James Morrison Belfast Concert

Postby JB » 01 Jun 2009, 10:45

Had a great time at James' concert on Friday night, it was a packed Waterfront and non-stop energy from the moment it started.
Great sound from James and the band.

He was playing his L350 Blackwood / Spruce with custom inlays.

I got to have a chat with him after the show, not only is James a great performer, he's got a fantastic personality too.

... and a big thanks to James' manager Trevor for arranging everything, top man :D

Just out of interest, what do you think of blackwood as a body timber?

Personally I like it a lot, it adds a lighter tone, an extra bit of sparkle to the sound.

I play a rosewood / spruce jumbo L320 as it suits my style and sound but the Blackwood would easily be my next choice.

I have a A350 Blackwood and Spruce model, and it is possibly the finest guitar in the world.

I prefer the guy on the right, cause he's really looking proud, and whether it's JM orJB, he's got all the right to be! :)

Thanks for the terrific pictures JB. Great artist, great guitar!
I'm looking forward to seeing James at Durham County Cricket ground on July 14 ('though not in person I fear).
