Really, really good playing. Plus very well recorded, how was the sound recorded?

Got to say that the L325 Cuban looks a bit special. What's the story behind that?

Dear JB,

I have listened to all the sound files. My Avalons have never played any of those tunes to that standard. There is clearly a problem with them.

Should I bring them back to have this fault remedied or get a refund?

Could it be because I don't have pick guards fitted?

Or could it indeed be an entirely different problem?

Seriously tho', a very fine addition to what is developing into a great site.

Kudos due to the luthiers and the player.

You're right there Ross, very special ... there is only one made and will only ever be one made that looks like that.

A few years ago we bought some Cuban Mahogany for soundboards that had some unusual figuring, the dark / light stripes, we used all the other soundboards on the high end Zemaitis brand for the Eric Clapton 12 string styled super jumbo.

We only had one soundboard left and decided to use it on this L325 and add a mother of pearl soundboard inlay to contrast the wood, works well. Now although we can get more Cuban for soundboards there's probably zero chance of getting the same figuring, as a general rule Cuban has a more uniform plain appearance.

It's available for £2775 GBP.

It has a rich bass and warm tones with a very strong mid range.

Glad you'd like the sound files lads.

The samples played by Mark Lyttle, one of our longest serving Luthier's are recorded by him in his studio. They're recorded clean through a mic with only a touch of delay added to some of the songs.

I should have the D300A Americana uploaded today, it was played and recorded by the guys at 'Guitarist' magazine.

:)

When I first saw it I thought you'd added some decoration with the stripes below the sound hole. It's a beauty.

Tou shouldn't be allowed to tempt people like this..... ;)
