WHO IS Fretkillr

Postby MIKE 450 » 22 Apr 2009, 00:29

Like many acoustic/guitarist's I love to go onto youtube and watch all great artist's strumming away. Like many- my favorite is Fritkillr- this guy is so so good maybe the best all rounder on youtube.

Yes there's the Tommy Emannuel's etc whom I love also--"but wanna know somthin" I think Fretkillr with he's play anything style" perfectly" is way out on he's own the mans's unbelieveable!

BUT WHO IS HE! There's no doubt he's someone very famous who whishes to remain anonamous, and that's cool.---everytime I listen to he's voice- that brilliant blues voice-- which I sometimes think "hey that voice don't match the colour of he's skin" I can't help but ask myself-- WHO IS Fretkillr! The clue should be there in the voice, that's what annoys me. I know that voice ---I've lay awake at night thinking what band or what solo artist played and sang like that--

He's Americain that's for sure!

yeah thanks for the links Andy liked your little slap&tap on myspace. As I've said on this site before I'm not a big fan of slap&tap I love the first 20 seconds then I great bored. But I must say these guys are great player's.There's just so many doing that today it's sort of reminds of break dancing for some weird reason.

You played that piece very well, now I think it's time to sing along. Why don't you have a go at writing songs and singing, all welsh people are great singer's. So off you go mate write a number one hit.

I have to agree about the slap&tap (although I am partial to a bit of slap&tickle! ) its just not my thing! I've got every Andy Mckee album and most of Don Ross's stuff but much prefer their 'normal' playing to the fancy stuff, they both write beautiful tunes but the slapping etc seems to be written with their heads rather than their hearts so to speak.

I'd say that fratkillr is just a keen home player, he seems pretty good but i've seen plenty of players as good or better at open mic nights etc!

Oh, and as for us Welsh all being good at singing, I must be the exception to the rule

If you are interested in slapping etc, have a look at Kaki King on this video - she is a lot better looking than some of the other exponents although famously prefers female company. Oh well....

aye kaki king wasnt bad but think shes trying to be preston reed and failing (even got herself a simular ovation lol), trying to show off maybe dunno :? but yeah she is a looker :D not the hardest track to play looks like, just practise like anything i suppose. cheers Mike :D ive cleaned it up a bit since i recorded it and lowered my action so is much easier to hit harmonics, the thing about the slap and tap for me is getting that beat, you get really into the song when your playing in that style i find. its great fun :D

trying my hand at don ross afraid to dance next, and maybe andy mckee keys to the hovercar, love that track :D as for singing nooo  way better of with paul potts
