L 320

Postby bmacr4 » 23 Feb 2009, 12:54

Hi . I recently bought a preloved L 320 Legacy Premier in mint condition, and I'm really delighted with it. Lovely to play and fantastic tone and volume.

I'm keen to know when the guitar was made.

The Serial Number is L 000639.

Thanks for your help and congratulations on a great forum.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I'm really loving the L320 and I'm just about to change the strings for the first time.

I've been watching the thread on string preferences with interest. I've been recommended "Earthtones" 12-54s as apparently they are good for tone and durability.

Anybody know anything about them ???????

I've seen them advertised in magazines, but have never tried them. Why not give them a go and see what you think? Let us know if they're any good.

Hi Ross A.

I've ordered a set from ebay and expect to get them tomorrow or Friday.

Will let you know how they go.

Hi Ross A

I put the Earthtones 12-54 s on my guitar last Friday and they sounded absolutely dead immediately, particularly the .54 E string.

I have left them on for a few days to see if there would be any improvement, but no change. These strings get a very impressive write up, especially by Earthtones themselves, but they are not the the thing on my L320.

I have to say that I am an Elixir fan and I will be trying them this week. I'll shift the Earthtones on to my old Takamine and see how they sound on it, but I'm not hopeful.

The search goes on !!!

Regards

Brian

i use martin SP's 12's there pretty good and will last a long time without much change in their tonage over time.

Hi.

I agree totally about the Martin SPs and I have a set on another guitar at the moment. I put a set of Elixir 12s on the L320 and they sound pretty good and certainly better than the Earthtones, but I'll give the SPs a go next time.

Cheers :D
