Split Saddles

Postby Lentin » 19 Feb 2009, 23:01

Gents,
I have a problem..
Changing the strings, the saddle corresponding to strings 1 & 2 fell down.
What's the right position?
The wider side under the 1st, or under the 2nd string?

Thanks.

Hi Lentin

This has happened to me a few times too,try both ways as I recall one way is obvious(ie plenty of saddle height for both B&E string) and the other the E string has no saddle atall.
Make sure that the little shim is still in there that is if you have,nt taken it out already.
Doubtless JB will be along to advise you soon.

Regards

I've had the same situation also. The difference is relatively small either way, but I put the wider side under the B string. Might not be the way it was originally put in, but its okay with me.

I have changed the position.
Now, the wider side is under B string.
Much better. Now the sound is different.
Interesting...
Thanks for the help.
