I want to know how to transpose a song from a chord to another chord (ex: form A to G) HOW??? PLs help me

If you send me an email to rioplayer@live.co.uk (I can reply quickly with an attachment) I'll send you some material I use for teaching the basics, it includes transposition info using a capo. It's relatively simple and you could do it in your head, but if you have a reference system it's useful when you're brain is full or you are playing in a band/group and the key changes. Not all Keys can be transposed easily as there is a limit to how far up the neck a capo can go before it sounds tonk(Some say no further than the 7th fret). In the A to G example, simply put your capo on the 2nd fret and play the sequence using the chords in G instead of A. If you want to send me details of the song you're trying to transpose I'll try and help with that too.

I don't think the capo will fit the harmonica as is ... it may need some modification first ....

Great Little chart Fletch thanks very much. You mentioned using the capo on your post, so your common sequence chart turns out to be very handy for harp use.

My harps are in the key of A-C-D-E --So looking at your little sequence chart, it's easy to work out where to put the capo "ON THE NECK OF YOUR GUITAR"

When playing blues cross harp its the second chord in the sequence you choose your harp to match- so when playing in G you use a C harp.

I also teach guitar from time to time so the chart will come in handy. Sorry once again for my poor English--poor old JB must have been scratching he's head "not for the first time" reading my post.
