I have decided to keep my Avalon as my special guitar for home use (and occasional jamming) only. I do have it insured, but I just don't think I could ever forgive myself if something were to happen to it. So with that decision out of the way it was time to decide upon a gigging guitar. I had considered getting a smaller bodied, less costly Avalon (and do still plan on one, possibly an Americana, in the future), but with my old electric guitar being about ready for retirement I've decided to go for a Taylor T5. This seems to be able to cover all bases from a perspective of playing live. I know it's a fallacy to believe that any guitar could truly be a pure electric and an electro-acoustic at the same time but according to many reviews I've read this comes about as close as anything possibly can. I'm going to pick mine up tomorrow and I can't wait. I don't quite have the child on Chrstmas Eve feeling I had waiting for my Avalon to arrive, but nonetheless, it's always nice getting a new toy.
I appreciate that many people on here may think I'm a heretic for even considering buying something like this and not going the proper route of buying another acoustic and a separate electric, but if it's half as good as the reviews it's received from the guitar press and punters alike then I should hopefully be very happy.

I may even post some photos tomorrow if people are interested.
