S25 Question

Postby fnl_ultimateworship » 18 May 2006, 09:41

On Chris Tomlins' S25, is it a tobacco finish or honeyburst or something else. I've never seen a more beautiful color guitar. I was also wondering what kind of pick up he uses. If anyone has a pic of just that guitar please send it to me in an email fnl_ultimateworship@yahoo.com

hI and welcome to the forums :)

the guitar you're describing is not Chris's S25, his S25 is rosewood back and sides with a cedar top and clear satin finish.

:?: not quite sure what guitar you've seen.

Thanks for the welcome! I had never heard of Avalon before, but when I went to a Chris Tomlin concert I absolutly loved what I heard! I also had never saw a more beautiful guitar. This is the web site I found a picture of the guitar I was refering to....http://christianmusic.about.com/od/musi ... =the+corrs

Thanks so much for the welcome, I hope to spend alot more time here in your forums and to own one of your fine instruments one day!

God Bless! Chris

I'm pretty sure it's an OM but I can't see one with a sunburst finish and no cutaway. Check this pic:

Look at the body shape and the position and size of the pickguard.

Ok. I'm not sure it's a Martin, but it's definately not an Avalon and certainly is a martin copy. For exapmle: http://www.santacruzguitar.com/

I had a look for more pics, but couldn't find a picture of the headstock which would have made things a lot easier.

Look at this:

You can just about make out the tuners which look a bit like the vintages style open back ones that scgc use. I'll stop talking to myself now. I'm avoiding revision for my exam tomorrow!!!

Hey guys. It's a Collings OM model that he likes using because it's a comfortable size for him.

Well, whether Chris Tomlin plays one or not, the folks at Avalon make a fine guitar! Actually, they make many fine guitars.

Nope, that's his collings again. I've just done another google and still no Avalons that I can see.
