String Gauge???

Is it possible to lower the gauge of the strings from 12's to 11's. I find that after a while my hand is wrecked. Can i just change the strings or will the neck need adjusted with the decrease in tension???

Most of the time you can move to 11's without truss-rod adjustment but the only way to know for sure is to do it.
