A25C Pickups?

Postby jjamesdday » 14 Feb 2007, 19:33

Hey gang,

JB I appreciate the feedback, and the warm welcoming. I have another ? that i was hoping i could get some help with. I have read alot about the different picups and options, what sounds good etc. I am not at that level of play yet so i was looking for a solution that is a little more basic. I have a friend that put a mic in his lowden and it seems to sound quite well, we have a mutual friend that builds guitars on an amateur level who installed the pickup for him as far as drilling the hole for the jack and mounting the mic so I have someone who could put it in for me. The question I have is what kind of pickup can I get that is of a good quality but is also just the mic itself with the jack and no battery if possible, or would i be better to go with a different optinon? also any pointers as to placement to install it for the best tonal sound, how to attatch it etc.. Any feedback would be great.

Thanks Adam

Hi Adam, the end-pin hole doubles as the jack socket hole, that's why we use the larger wooden end-pin ... it just needs reamed slightly.

We also pre-drill the holes uner the saddles for the transducer :) so most of the tricky drilling work is already done before it leaves us.

To keep things simple Fishman make a fantastic mic blend system that goes across the soundhole ... quick and easy to install and sounds terrific.
