Sunday listening..

Postby Colin Johnston » 28 Nov 2004, 21:00

ahh... Sunday... the wind down after a week in retail!...

This week I bought another copy of Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" - can't get enough - may finish the day by grabbing a Tele and jamming to it.

I'm loving the new Government Mule CD (Warren Haynes needs an Avalon!) and...

an old fave - King Curtis "Live at Fillmore West":

King Curtus - sax
Billy Preston - hammond B3
Cornell Dupree - smokin' Telecaster
Truman Thomas - rhodes
Jerry Jemmott - Fender bass
Berhard Purdie - drums
Pancho Morales - percussion
AND The Memphis Horns!

perfect!! :D

Would love to hear someone like Slash playing in a lineup like that... interesting to see what he would make of it :)

Duane Allman is the guy who would've belonged in that lineup!

There was an Allman Brothers Band gig where Dicky Betts was a "no show" so after trying all sorts of options they called in Zakk Wylde to dep!!

Apparently Zakk is a huge ABB fan and knew all the songs. I'm looking for a bootleg fo this gig as it sounds "interesting". :D
