Acoustic Matrix Natural 1 for L32c

Postby decktwo » 26 Sep 2006, 09:33

Hello to you all, I hope you are well.

Last night I was on ebay and purchased a Fishman Acoustic Matrix ! for my L32c. I've had it for about 6 months and have nothing but praise for the boys over in the emerald isle and their products.

Thing is, after my "oh look a bargain" ebay purchase, I did a little more reading. It looks like the natural 1 is intended for smaller body guitars, but I seem to remember reading somewhere on here that its the standard fit to Avalons. Is this true? Something to do with the low end boost.

Can any one give me advise wheather to bother fitting the pickup, or look for another model. If it is the former then I have a natural 1 for sale.

Take care folks
John

Hey John, the Natural 1 is perfect for the Legacy range in all sizes, I only buy Natural 1 models for our standard internal option.

One thing though, I assume you got it with a "split" pick-up and not a straight ?

Hi JB,

It does indeed have the split option, the blurb on the net states that for some bigger body guitars it may be a bit bottom heavy because of the preamp. But as the l32c is well balanced, I dont think it will be too much of a problem. Can you tell me where you fit the battery pouch in the factory?

Over the past few months, the L32c has become my weapon of choice in most recording situations. I suppose the time has come to get it out on the road, hence the pickup fitting.

I hope you and the Avalon crew had a great summer and that things are going from strength to strength for the company. I may be over your way later in the year, so might pop in for a coffee and a bleather.

Regards

John

Hey John you'd be most welcome to drop in and see us.

Things are going steadily from strength to strength but we're still in that "brand building" phase ... but we had to do it before with Lowden so we'll do it again with Avalon ..... and obviously the Zemaitis project keeps us busy and on our toes.

We always fit the battery pouch / holder to the neck block.

Cheers
Jim

We build the Zemaitis Acoustics, a very prestigious range of guitars inspired by legendary guitar builder Tony Zemaitis.
Some of his most famous guitars were made exclusively for Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Donovan and many more .... :)

Tony's work was very individual and very artistic, much more than "just" a guitar.

The chances of a metal fronted acoustic are slim but how about some solid silver inlays etc :)

Here's some of our work.

We really enjoy custom work

Amazing looking guitars,do you build these at your plant in the North or elsewhere. I remember the original guitars from the 60,s I did,nt realise anyone was making them again.

They look amazing ! What craftmanship... I suppose they sound different from the Avalons too, or is there some kind of similarity ?

I remember having seen the picks of the Greypicker's "Eclipse" guitar which also seemed to be inspired by the work of Zemaitis. Was that some kind of prototype for this project ?

Amazing ! I can imagine a guitar that is so neatly built sounds extraordinary too :). It takes some courage to build instruments that are so unlike everything else, even if there is a connection with a past builder. I confess that at first I didn't know what to think of it, but the more I look at the pictures, the more I appreciate the beauty of these guitars. Congrats to the Avalon team !
