Avalon Acoustic Guitars

I have a used Avalon A101 heading my way, and would like to know what guage and make strings are recommended by Avalon. Also, what players choices are. Thanks in advance for any information.

D'Addario EXP16 (12-53guage) are what we put on as standard, they are an excellent string but I have to admit personally to being a fan of Elixir strings

Aha! Well, I like Elixirs myself. When/if I make the switch to medium gauge strings on my new guitar, will some reworking of the nut be required?

Possibly to widen the wound strings but be very careful not to cut into the depth of the strings slots.
