I have be blessed enough to hear this guy live twice in Belfast. He seams to come every two years of so and he is fantasic. Check him out and if he's ever playing in your area make sure you go.

If you do get to see him play be prepaired to feel like burning your guitar, he's that good.

Enjoy

Tommy E. is great.
I was lucky enough to have a couple of guitar lessons with him.
Check out Tommy's brother Phil Emmanuel. He is also a great player.
Tommy is also a nice guy.

I have seen him a few times here in NZ.

I talked to him one day in town. He was Standing watching a busker and I recognised him. I asked him where his guitar was and why he wasn't jamming with the guy.
We both had a bit of a giggle over it and he said his contract doen't allow him to play for free. LOL.

I love his version of Lady Madonna

I'm a new poster, and would like to give this thread a bump.

The first time I ever saw Tommy was at a huge venue in 2003, and it was like a religeous experience. I just stood there with my mouth hanging open for about 10 minutes before I could ask someone who he was. Since then I've come to appreciate his more sensitive side and am working on learning his "Morning Aire" from the Endless Road CD.

I recommend his "Live at Shelton Concert Hall" DVD for those who like him - it's 25 songs up close and personal. I think history will remember him as one of the greatest acoustic guitar players ever.
