Jut thought I'd mention I saw Eric at MusicLive giving his Avalon hell ! An outstanding player, wit and all-round entertainer. How anyone can break a low E, keep playing while detuning the A and not miss a beat I'll never know . . .

Hi Timmyo

Welcome to the forums, and yes, witnessing Eric perform is a truely awesome experience.

He was with us at the NAMM show in California last Jan playing at our booth through the day and everytime he let the chords rip the crowds drew round.

I'm just glad our guitars can take all that energy .... .... 8)

I have a little video of him playing on my guitar, during a breakfast the day after a belgian concert. but I will not post it here because he risks to loose his Avalon endorsement.

By the way, he confessed me at that time that he would like to get a spruce top model, just to change from the cedar one.

Quite interesting by the way, as some says that the cedar top does not "like" a too powerfull right hand (definition loss). Anyway, Eric does not seem to get a problem with that, even with its so powerfull picking.
Cedar rocks!

Cheers.

It looks as though his illness is getting worse though. Sad news and my best wishes go to him and his family. See his website.

Yes, this is very sad news. I recently purchased his Acoustic Guitar bible, an excellent guitar tuition course although I'm afraid it will never turn me into someone with his abilities!

I was sad to see his DVD is sold out, I'd love to see him play (never had the chance). But, at least I got a couple of CD's from his website. Looking forward to them!

Feel really upset by Eric's passing. I met him a couple of years ago at a folk festival in Fylde.
