Tremolo Effects?

Hello everyone.

I know there's not many of us that float between dedicated acoustic playing and electric playing as well, but maybe there's a couple of you out there somewhere...

I am looking at buying a high-end boutique tremolo for my electric guitar setup; and I can't seem to decide which is the best choice for impeccable tone but with features that allow more potential expression.

I have pretty much narrowed down my choice to a select few - the Fulltone Supa-Trem (http://www.fulltone.com/stpframe.html), the Cusack Tap-a-Whirl (http://www.cusackmusic.com/?page=details&type=Products&item=Tap-A-Whirl), or the Catalinbread Semaphore Tremolo (http://www.catalinbread.com/sem.html).

Does anyone have any knowledge/opinions about these or others?

Indeed, Loki. They are quite interesting. In fact, now that I'm not in my research-in-depth-before-buying mode, I find I hadn't noticed how strange the names sound until now!

Which reminds me, in case anyone else comes by here. I went with the Cusack Tap-A-Whirl on a whim, and I was blown away with the transparentness of this thing. I was so impressed by the tone and features that I called Jon Cusack (yes, that's his name) and bought his Screamer overdrive as well.

And now, I'm addicted. His products are incredible. I highly recommend them to any pro or semi-pro players looking to define their individual tone. I guess that goes to any electric guitar guys here. Maybe there's a couple of you out there somewhere...

I was so impressed by the tone and features...

Hey everyone, I read back over this and realized 'tone' is not the right word for what I was trying to say. The thing that impressed me is it has so many features that create useful effects with your sound. It has like 8 different tremolo waveforms that can be used with a little creativity to effectively add interest to a riff or melody line played on guitar. Whew, that was a long sentence. Not used to giving those. But see, the pedal itself has no effect on your tone whatsoever. Check out the soundclips here.

indeed there's much more to these effects than "tone"...
this cusack pedal looks like a good piece of equipment although i'm not familiar with the other two options you mentioned.
there's lots of info by the way on different effect pedals on Jemsite, check it out...
