Dear Guitar Masters:
Do you use tabs, and if that's the case, do you use frequently programs like Guitar Pro (or similar)?
Do you find it useful?
For learning? For writing?

I use Guitar Pro to learn some new songs, since my ears and music are enemies.

Many thanks.

Sounds like we have a similar problem. I can read music, but only very S-L-O-W-L-Y. I didn't use to be so bad learnign by ear when I was playing electric in standard tuning, but as I tend to listen to and attempt to play fingerstyle, I would be lost without tab. Guitar Pro is pretty good, as is Tab Edit - 911 tabs is wonderful resource for both types of files.

Usually it's only for learning new pieces as I have never been a prolific writer. I sometimes find it easier to put a video camera on my hands and record a very rough demo so I can remember what I played as transcribing can take some time.
