Humidifiers

In a recent post, I wrote that I had bought a very simple humidifier.
There were two types in the shop.
One was really simple. Around 8 pounds. You put some water into a small 'box' using a syringe and refill it when dry.
The other one was automatic, coming with four humidity packs. Around 21 pounds. Reading now on Internet, I see that it's a '2-way humidity control that maintains a constant 45% relative humidity level'.
Probably this one is much better.
Both are D'Addario.

Any experience on them?

Today I have bought the more expensive humidifier. It's 30 euros, around 21 pounds. So, no money compared to the guitar. Stupid not to buy it because there is another cheaper.
It says that will keep 45% humidity level within the case.
Tomorrow I will start using it.
I did not like the other one.
It was a pity nobody provided feedback to the community about it.

I will share my impressions when tested.

Hi Guys, First post : All this talk about humidity etc is it actually ok to keep my guitar out on a stand all the time or should it be put back in its case after use?? I own a Legacy D10.

It's depends what the humidity levels are in the room where the guitar is.
If humidity is 45 - 65 % the guitar should be fine on a stand.

If lower or higher you might be better to store it in it's case, especially for longer periods.

I have my L320 in it's case all the time but my custom parlour guitar, also one of our Avalon's, sits out on a stand all the time and I've no problems, my humidity levels are fine !

Besides from the humidity levels, there is also the clumsyness level to consider...
Keeping the guitar in its case is a good way to keep it safe from physical danger as well. Ever since a close friend of mine accidentally dropped a clay pot on the floor, and got several scars in the cedar top of her Seagull guitar by the fragments, , I have been very careful to always keep my guitars in their cases whenever they're not played. It's a bit impractical, but I have made a habit of it, just as wiping the guitar of after playing. I sure miss looking at them all the time, though...
