New to me Avalon A200

Postby jsesler » 05 May 2007, 18:55

I just bought an A200 SN A00138 from Doug Alan Wilcox. He said it was a 2004 that he bought new from the factory last year. I was curious why a guitar might sit in the factory for 2 years. I'm also interested about any info you might have about this specific guitar or any differences in general between it and the golds currently advertised on the website. I assume it is a NI gold. It sounds amazing, and I can't put it down, but any other info about its life and conception would be great.

Thanks,
Josh

The A200 you've bought is one made by us here in Northern Ireland and we stamp the neck block at the start of production, ie once the sides have been bent and joined but depending on what models we need to make first for orders etc, it may well sit for awhile until we need it.

I'm not sure I follow you on the "advertised on website" bit ... we only make one type of Gold in various models, yours will be the same.
The small amount of Golds that were made in the Czech Rep had Abalone rosettes, gloss finish and slightly different body shapes.

Hope you enjoy your new guitar :D
