Dovetail or Bolt-on for Golds?

I have an A101 Czech Gold Series. I read a review of a Czech jumbo somewhere indicating it sported a bolt-on neck. Also stated the bolt heads were covered by a small wood panel on the neck block.

I was thinking of installing a strap button on the neck heel, but am hesitant to do so if it is a bolt-on neck. I thought it was a dovetail joint, but guess I need to verify that.

So, is it safe to sink a drill bit into the neck, or am I stuck with a shoestring around the headstock?

I think so. It is a darker than the block. Is there any way to know where the bolts are located in the heel?
