JB or anyone on this forum: I am about to change the strings on my Czech A-100 and in the process I will lower the action. Through thorough research on this forum I have learned that there is a shim under the saddle that I will take out first and if not satisfied, sand the saddle until I find my desired height. My owner's manual recommends changing one string at a time (but I can't do that if I need to remove the saddle) so...
...Can I remove all of the strings at once to do what I need to do? I have heard and read different opinions on this. Personally, I have lowered the action on my Martin and Takamines, removed all the strings at once to remove the saddle and have had no problems at all. I am assuming there'd be no problem with my Avalon either but thought I'd check JUST IN CASE (you just never know sometimes!)
Your thoughts and expertise will be (as always) greatly appreciated.
