loose pickup jack

I know exactly what you mean,I have had the same problem reaching the internal nut on a strapjack.In the end I purchased a tool from Stewart-Macdonald the luthier supply people.( see their website) It is a wrench specially designed for the job.If my memory serves me right it cost about €30,hope this helps

Hi John ... sorry for the late reply.

It can be tricky but if you undo the socket, bring it out and put the inside nut to the correct depth you only need to hold the jack socket in-place while tightening from the outside ... your daughter only needs to hold it as the inside nut is already fitted .... that's how we fit them.

We don't use any of the special tools, our final assembly team can reach ok.
