Saddle/nut material on the Silver Series

Postby Blue Apple » 12 Dec 2006, 19:41

Hi,

I recently purchased a DS100 and I have to say that I'm very impressed by the sound and quality of this guitar. 8)

I'm curious to know what material is used for the nut / saddle... Plastic or TUSQ? I might look into upgrading it if it's made out of plastic.

Thanks a million!

Hi there and welcome to the forums :D

It'll be a plastic one and probably has a plastic shim as well so a new Tusq saddle with no shim should improve the tone and sustain noticably.

Thanks for the info JB!

That's what I thought... Any idea if I need a 1/8th" or a 3/32" saddle?

The shims are actually made of wood... not that it makes a difference. :D

Thanks again!

If anybody cares, I just found out that the saddle is 3/32" thick...

Have a good one!

Yup ... that's correct 3/32 for the Silver range.
