A201CE

Correct me if I am wrong. The spec for the A201CE silver series states the back and sides are Mahogany. Mine is made from Rosewood and a stunning bookmatch to boot. Is this a one off or did Avalon make a lot of these?

You're quite right to say the spec on the website states that. I suspect it is a typo. The gold series is numbered in a similar way:

100 - spruce top, mahogony back / sides
101 - cedar top, mahogony back / sides
200 - spruce top, Rosewood back / sides
201 - cedar top, Rosewood back / sides

Each of these is availible in D,A,L and S shapes with various options. Someone from Avalon will have to confirm this. :)

ooops .... ..... doh !

Definitely Rosewood on all 200 or 201 series.

Solid Rosewood on all Legacy and Gold, laminated on all Silver range.

Thanks for that quick reply. This is an amazing sounding guitar that cuts through when played through a PA with the band and just on its own in a complete acoustic environment. I have a Martin 00028 and a Gibson J45 and this Avalon matches both. Cheers Pete
