To be or not to be....

Postby Hpaluche » 13 Dec 2005, 12:56

Finally

Silver serie guitars are build in Korea?
Legacy in Ireland.
But it's not clear for the gold series. So what?

Legacy is inspired from the old Lowden so:

neck in 5 pieces
Dolphin profiles braces
the same heel
...

what specs differences between, the gold and the legacy in a technical point of view.
Is it possible to get a price list?

Hi there.

All Legacy models made here in Northern Ireland from solid timbers, and completely handmade.
All Silvers made in Korean with laminated back and sides.
We still make Golds here in Northern Ireland, also from solid timbers and completely handmade.
But ... we also get some Gold models made in the Furch Guitar company in Czech Rep. These are also made from solid timbers and are a very well made high grade guitar.
We stopped doing the "Glossly, burnished finish" on all Irish made Golds about a year ago, only satin finish available from us at the Northern Ireland factory.
All Czech Golds have a fantastic high gloss finish.

Legacy standard neck is 2 piece and the Premier is 5 piece.
Gold bracing is completely different from the Legacy style.

And finally, yes of corse you can have a price list, just e-mail me at info@avalonguitars.com and I'll send you one, please state whether you want GBP, USD or Euro.

I hope this helps but if you more answers I'll be happy to help here, e-mail or by phone 02891 820 542 ask for Jim.

Cheers

Thank you sir

In the future, do you will set a different name for the Gold serie from Ireland and the gold series from Furch factory?

Hope that the Gold make by Furch will not become too much "Taylor-ised"

Regards
