AS-100 Nut and Saddle question

Postby JNHS » 17 May 2011, 21:20

Hello all hope someone has this information as I dont trust my eye and ruler.

I am having a Fishman Matrix Blend fitted to my AS-100 by a trusted luthier and I thought I would get a tusq nut and saddle fitted at the same time but then questions of size came up.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the nut and saddle height, width, length (and E to E for the nut)? I have had my ruler out but I am not convinced its as acurate as I would like.

Thanks very much

Hi Jason,

If nothing has been changed on your guitar then the nut will be 43mm wide and 6mm thick ... the height will be about 9mm but that can vary.
String spacing for E to E is 35.5mm measured to the string centres.

The saddle should be 71mm wide and 3mm thick but the height is different for each guitar so it's best to get a tall saddle and sand to fit, I can't see you needing anything more than an 11mm blank saddle to start with.

:)
