Lowering the action on a Lowden F25C

Postby Will T » 16 Aug 2005, 14:07

Hi,

Could I bother you with another question regarding my Lowden F25C circa 1996? I'd like to lower the action and was hoping that there may have been some shims under the bridge saddles, but there aren't. Rather than alter the original saddles, I was wondering about purchasing another set to modify (there is a local luthier who could do this if necessary). Given that Avalon guitars are still using the split bridge system, is it possible that your saddles might fit the F25C and if so, might I be able to buy some? One last thing : although I haven't measured it, there is a little relief in the neck which looks about right to me, so I don't think this is the reason for the fairly high action.

Thanks,

Will

Hi Will, the split saddles will be the same as we use now but they come in a raw state and will need more than the height adjusted.

We shape and adjust every saddle for each individual guitar so there will be a bit of work involved.

If you send your request directly to info@avalonguitars.com I'm sure we could organise something for you

Great, much appreciated. I'll send an email as suggested.

Thanks,
