Detune when shipping?

Postby frankhond » 10 Oct 2009, 16:57

Here is one where you see conflicting advice - when shipping your guitar, do you detune the strings or not? Taylor and Larrivee want you to ship the guitar tuned at standard tuning. How about shipping an Avalon?

Yes it might be better if you de-tune the guitar before shipping. This is to prevent from damage to your guitar. Just to make sure also that the case is fully fit to your guitar.
