Guitar Stands

Postby Walesy » 12 Feb 2009, 23:40

Hi guys,

I was wondering what your thoughts on Hercules stands was?

I've just taken delivery of one of these and its a really nicely made stand, one thing that's crossed my mind though, is whether the system they use whereby the weight of the guitar is supported by the headstock alone, could be at all detrimental to my guitar/s?

I would assume that they wouldn't sell a product that is likely to damage guitars, but just thought I would check as any other stand i've had in the past has supported the weight of the guitar from the bottom, not the headstock.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts :)

Thanks for that John!

The L32 has really started to grow on me! I think it was nieve of me to expect it to blow me away straight out of the box - having never had a 'new' guitar before (i.e. it was still being made a week before I first played it) my expectations were too high! It's very different to my Fylde but that's why I bought it! A stunning instrument in it's own right :D

I'm loving having them both on the stand, a sight to behold!

Regarding hanging them up with a capo on, i'm not quite sure why you have a problem as mine both have a capo on and are hanging fine! :)

Thanks again.

I am given to clipping the capo to the top of the headstock when I hang one up. Don't think that my mind would let me hang one up with a capo still in position.

Funny all the wee foibles and rituals we develop ennit?

I only have a capo on the guitar when I'm playing with it. Its up to you, but I wouldnt recommend putting storing a guitar with a capo. Just dont want to take a chance with the rubber on the nitro finish. I dont care if they say its safe or not. Dont want to take the chance.
