Broken Bridge Pin

Postby brokenpin » 08 Jan 2009, 23:01

I have a Gold Series D201 from quite a few years ago (5 or so?). I was replacing the strings recently, and when I had taken out all of the bridge pins, I saw that one was cracked and angled out a bit because it's on the way to being fully broken. I'm not sure whether it was always that way or whether I broke it taking off the string. Either way, now when I try to put on a new string, the pin slips a little out of the bridge, making it impossible to tune the string. Is this because of the crack? If so, does anybody know what kind of pins were initially on the guitar, and where can I get a replacement? Does Avalon sell them?

Thanks a lot,
Adam

Hi Adam, we've used a couple of pin variations through the years and some of the early Gold models had straight pins, please contact me at info@avalonguitars.com and I'll try to get you the right ones.

Cheers
